Tournament #4 July 13, 2003 Mississippi River Pool 13

Fishing for the 4th tournament proved to be more difficult than it was 3 weeks ago. The water had come up some due to storms during the previous week. On Sunday it was clear the level was dropping quickly. The river current was high and most of it looked like chocolate milk. Still it was a good day with the majority of anglers bringing in fish and the weather was good.

Mike Blaesi of Donahue, IA took 1st place with a 5 bass limit that weighed 9.76lbs. Mike was fishing for bass that were concentrating on points due to the dropping water. His partner Joe Behnke of Dubuque, IA brought in big fish of the day and 2nd place honors with a 3.94lbs lunker.

3rd place went to Bill Sutton of East Dubuque, IL who discovered Spring Lake is not always a hot spot. There was very clean water to be found in Spring Lake due to the coontail but it failed to produce as it has all spring. Bill still brought in a repectable showing with 2 fish weiging 3.56lbs.

4th place went to Ken Warren of Olin, IA with one fish weighing 2.35lbs and 5th to his partner Mark Behnke of East Dubuque, IA with 1 fish at 1.62lbs. Ken and Mark caught fish consistently all day but just could not find the keepers.
