District 73 2006 Season Tournament Results
Tournament #2 October 23rd, 2005 Mississippi River Pool 12
The Eastern Iowa district of the American Bass Anglers held the 2nd tournament of the 2006 season on Sunday October 23rd, 2005 on pool 12 of the Mississippi River. The river is still a little high for this time of year and has fairly strong current. The air temp was in the upper 30's and the surface temperature of the river was 50 degrees when we launched.
First place was claimed by Ryan Christoffer of Waterloo, IA. Ryan spent the day within 5 miles of the ramp and found a limit of largemouth hiding in grass in deeper water. He fooled the bass with a crankbait worked like a jerkbait. The winning weight was 10.08lbs.
Second place fell to Ken Warren of Olin, IA with 4 smallmouth and 1 largemouth. Ken's fish were all caught in eddies behind structure in a high current area. The fish were caught on a green pumpkin candy colored Invader Jig from Strictly Bass Lures and a Yum Wooly Hawg Tail in watermelon color. Ken's limit was 9.86lbs.
Third went to Ken's partner for the day, Jesse Fortney with 4 smallmouth caught on a homemade jig. Big Bass of the day went to Elliot Wamsley with a 3.54lb largemouth.
