District 73 Championship Aug 26-27, 2006 Mississippi River Pool 11
The weekend was pleasant with mostly cloudy conditions with a little fog both mornings. The air temps were in the 70's most of the day and the water was in the low 70's, muddy, low but rising. While the weather was a nice relief from the past few weeks fishing turned out to be tough. No clear pattern appeared either day and anglers had to cover water and use several tactics to fill the live wells. Ryan Christoffer topped the field with 8 keepers over 2 days that weighed 16.22lbs. He fished the upper end of pool 11but claimed he had no pattern. His fish were all caught on a jig but the cover varied. Ryan is sponsored by Secret Weapon Lures. The runner up spot went to Elliot Wamsley with 15.41lbs. The majority of his fish were caught behind a barge located south of Cassville. The majority fish were caught on a green tube and a few on a spinnerbait from Strictly Bass Lures. Third place went to Paul DiBona who also fished the
upper end of pool 11 but concentrated on wing dams and isolated cover
fished with a 6" worm.
From L to R: 2nd, Elliot Wamsley; 1st, Ryan Christoffer; 3rd & Big Bass, Paul DiBona
