Tournament #5 June 10, 2006
Mississippi River Pool 11 This tournament got off to a late start due to lightning storms moving through the area and once these were gone the launch occurred about 1 hour late and found both water and air temperatures had fallen from the day before. The rest of the day was overcast and rained on and off. First place went to visiting director Ken Warren from Olin, IA. Despite the poor weather Ken's spots held up and he culled through a couple limits to bring in the winning sack of 5 largemouth weighing 11.65lbs. He reported he caught about a dozen keepers and the majority were caught on a River FINatic Spinnerbait and the rest on an green pumpkin candy Invader Jig both from Strictly Bass Lures. His fish all came off of rocks with grass and wood on it. Ken is sponsored by: Triton Boats, Evinrude, Davenport Boat, Strictly Bass Lures, Rod Wrap, BassMedics, and Bag-em. Second place went to Jeremia Matz, of Waterloo, IA. His sack of 5 largemouth weighed 10.97 and were taken with a Rapala DT crankbait on rocks in the same area as Ken as they were partners for the day. Third Place went to tournament director Ryan Christoffer, from
Waterloo, IA. He caught his fish on a black and blue finesse jig. The
fish were all found on rocks near a marina. He reported catching many
keepers but, unfortunately, there was little size to them. Ryan is
sponsored by Secret Weapon Lures.
From L to R: 3rd Place, Ryan Christoffer; 2nd Place & Big Bass, Jeremia Matz; 1st Place, Ken Warren.
