Tournament #5 July 23, 2006
Mississippi River Pool 10 The weather today was stable for a change. The fishing seemed to be below par but there were still good numbers of fish brought in they just seemed a bit smaller. The river temps were just above 80 and there was a small amout of current making main river the most productive area. Chris Foutch joined ABA and took his first win the same day. He caught his winning fish on wing dams with a Senko rigged on a jig head. His sack weighed 10.65lbs. Brian Hamann took second with 10.21lbs. His fish were all caught on eel grass on a Hamann swim jig in very shallow water. He is sponsored by Hamann Bait and Tackle. Tournament director, Ken Warren, claimed 3rd when he
could not get the final fish. His 4 fish sack weighed 8.85lbs and
include the Big Bass at 2.68lbs. His fish were also caught on main river
eel grass and were caught on a River FINatic spinnerbait early and an
Invader Jig later in the day both from Strictly Bass Lures. Ken is
sponsored by Triton Boats, Evinrude, Strictly Bass Lures, BassMedics,
Rod Wrap, and Davenport Boat and Marine.
From L to R: 3rd & BB, Ken Warren; 1st, Chris Foutch; 2nd, Brian Hamann.
