Tournament #5 July 8, 2006
Mississippi River Pool 10 The day was pleasant. It was a bit warm but made tolerable due to the light breeze. The river was still very clear and the water temperature approached 80 degrees. The biggest story was the low river level which made most backwater areas inaccessible. The dominate pattern was fishing grass along the main river. Justin Hamann took his first win with the ABA by bringing in the largest limit it weighed 9.77lbs. He also claimed big bass prize for the day. Justin reported catching most of his fish in the grass on a borrowed Brovarney swim jig that his partner, and second place finisher, Brook Rodenbeck had given him. Brook finished just 3 ounces behind Justin with 9.57lbs fishing the same pattern. Ken Warren hopped a green pumpkin candy Invader Jig from Strictly
Bass Lures in the grass and he also used a drop shot rig around the
edges to bring in a 9.1lbs limit.
From L to R: 2nd Place, Brook
Rodenbeck; 1st Place & Big Bass, Justin Hamann; 3rd Place, Ken Warren.
