Tournament # 6 Mississippi River Pool 19 July 15th, 2007 The wind behaved today but the sun made things a little warm and a few of the top anglers struggled a bit today but there was still some great sacks brought to the scale once again proving pool 19 to be the best of the lower Iowa pools. Top prize went to Ron Norton who had a great day by bringing in 14,92lbs as well as big fish with a 4.63lb largemouth. He caught all of his fish in the south end of the pool but was closed lipped about the winning tactic due to another upcoming tournament. It is worth mentioning, however, that Ron did not practice but just rolled up his sleeves and went fishing. Scott Seager, the 2006 AOY for the district, claimed 2nd place today with 13.67lbs. He caught all his fish early on buzzbaits and chatterbaits. Then late in the day he found a few with a shakie head worm. Mike Mertens took home 3rd place with 13.29lbs. He fished eel grass all day with drop baits. He is sponsored by Mike's Automotive.
