District # 46, Tournament # 5
Mississippi River Pool 17

Sunday, June 10, American Bass Anglers Division #46 took off for its 5th event of the 2007 season, from Muscatine on Pool 17. Eleven anglers took off on a great day for fishing. The weather was great with partly cloudy skies, temps climbing to the 80’s and light winds.

Gary Carlson of Rock Island took the COUNTRY Insurance & Financial Services First Place Trophy and the Ducky’s Lagoon Big Bass Trophy with a 12.14 lbs limit anchored by a 4.11 lbs largemouth. Gary fished a backwater area all day and was heard saying he netted the big bass on the first cast of the day.

Second place was taken by Randy Price of Rapids City, IL. Randy weighed 5 fish for 9.77 lbs after a .25 lbs penalty. Randy spent most of his day on either side of Lock and Dam 16.

Third place was taken by Gary’s son Dustin Carlson, also of Rock Island. Dustin had 5 fish for 8.18 lbs. Dustin caught some of his fish in Muscatine Harbor and the rest in dad’s back water area.

Our next event is on Pool 14 out of LeClaire, IA on June 24, 2007. Registration at the ramp will be from 4 am to 5 am.
