Tournament # 2, May 31 2008, Mississippi River Pool 19
The Mississippi River Pool 19 Division of the US Angler's Choice Tournament Trail held their 2nd tournament of the year on Saturday May 31st in Montrose, IA. The weather was perfect for a change and even the river behaved. Nearly all of the teams brought in limits but the bigger fish that this pool has become known for were once again harder to find.
The father-daughter team of Fasananh and Emily Phosy from Mt. Pleasant topped the field with 16.86lbs and took home over $1000 for their day of fishing. They found their winning sack fishing the shallows around Montrose. They threw spinnerbaits, crankbaits and various plastics to make these fish bite.
The runner-up spot fell to Danny Graham and Todd Flockhart with 15.46lbs and 3rd place at 13.96lbs went to Chad Kerr and Quinton Inghram. Their sack also included the big bass for the event, a 4.09lb largemouth.
Thanks too all of the teams and we will see you at the next event on June14th back in Montrose!
