This has been a tough spring but we finally had two perfect days and it even happened on a weekend. The fishing was hot on pool 19 once again as can be seen from the high number of limits brought to the scale. Many anglers were disappointed when they discovered that a limit of 2 pound bass would not earn a paycheck for the day. This proves once again that this is one of the strongest pools on the Mississippi River. The people of Montrose were great and some of us even attended the fish fry put on by the Montrose Fire Department the night before the tournament and enjoyed the fine meal.

On top of the field was Mike Antes who came back from a last place finish at our last event to win this one with 14.52lbs of bass.

Fasananh Phosy, one of the area's best finesse fishermen, posted another strong finish at 2nd place with 13.23lbs. Mike Huffman took 3rd with 12.91lbs after driving all night back from the BFL All-American tournament in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He proved that sleep deprivation could not stop him. The big bass pot was taken by David Fritts with one weighing 3.77lbs.
