Our kick-off event for 2009 went off great! The best teams the area has to offer came out even though the weather was touch and go for most of the day. It was windy and, while rain threatened all day, it remained dry for the most part. Several nice sacks of fish were brought in proving the health of these fish are still good after last year's flood.
Topping the field on this opening event for 2009 was the Quinton Inghram fishing alone as his regular partner was away competing in the Illini BFL. Quinton pulled off a 15.71lbs sack anchored by big fish of the event with one just over 4lbs. His fish were caught using a spinnerbait and plastics in the back water lakes. he team is sponsored by Rose's Bait Shop, Bi-State Contracting, GK Calls, & Thunderbaits.
Runner-up team was Richie Eaves and his lovely wife Nikki. They brought in a 14.21lbs limit. Third place went to Rob and Matt Bartholomew with 13.44lbs.
